Fair Housing Policy

Fair Housing is a right protected by federal and state laws that refers to insuring that all people have an equal opportunity to access housing of their choice. Discrimination in housing and housing related services is prohibited by both the Federal Fair Housing Act and the Virginia Fair Housing Law.

The Newport News Redevelopment and Housing Authority (NNRHA) is committed to operating all of its housing programs in a fair and impartial way. NNRHA is committed to providing programs in a way that does not discriminate based on race, color, sex, national origin, religion, familial status, disability, elderliness, source of funds, sexual orientation, gender identity and military status.
